Pony Express Jr. Cowgirl Queen

Emily Miller, daughter of Rick and Kim Miller of Newton, was crowned the 2013 Jasper County Pony Express Jr. Cowgirl Queen on May 19 in Colfax. Emily will represent Jasper County at the Jr. Cowgirl Queen contest at the Iowa State Fair in August. Contestants were judged on their horsemanship ability, answered a question from the judge and were asked to perform the Cowgirl Queen salute for the crowd. Emily will be a freshman at Newton Senior High School in the fall.
