To the editor:

This is letter of thanks goes out to the Boy Scouts of the Newton area and their leaders.

May 18, these fine young men and their leaders helped with preparations for Memorial Day events at Union Cemetery. They cleaned out all the flag pole holes in a very short time, while the leaders helped with setting up our new flag box carts. There were other volunteers, which was most welcomed. This group also volunteered to help with setting up flags next Saturday at 7 a.m. As chairman this year of the Veterans Council, I would like to thank each every one of them. I know the future is in good hands.
