Senior Austin Shores scored the game’s lone goal, helping propel the Class 2A No. 11 Cardinals to their third victory in a row. Newton is now 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.

The Cardinals will be off until the weekend, when they will play three games at a tournament in Nevada.
