Fifteen Aurora Heights and Woodrow Wilson fifth- and sixth-grade band students were selected to participate in the Himie Voxman Elementary Honor Band on April 6 at Centerville High School in Centerville.
Students were selected for the honor band on the basis of advanced progress in technique books and outstanding musicianship. Fifth-grade students participated in the first year honor band, and sixth-grade students participated in the band for second-year students. Each group had 105 members. Students were involved in rehearsals and sectionals from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and presented a concert at 3:30 p.m. in the Simon Estes Auditorium.
