Kelley endorses Braley for U.S. Senate

State Rep. Dan Kelley (D-Newton) has endorsed Bruce Braley for the U.S. Senate being vacated by the retiring Tom Harkin. Braley announced in February he had formed a committee to run for the Senate seat.

“I’m proud to endorse Bruce Braley for Senate,” Kelley said. “Bruce understands the importance of wind and renewable fuels to Jasper County. I’ve watched him successfully bring people together in a divided Congress to prioritize renewable energy and the jobs this industry creates, and he’ll be even more effective in the US Senate. He’s the right person to move the renewable energy economy forward.”

Braley said he was honored to have Kelley’s endorsement.

“I’ve launched this campaign because Iowans deserve a Senator who will work hard every day to rebuild the middle class, create economic opportunity, and use taxpayer money more wisely,” he said. “Dan knows the importance of renewable energy to Iowa’s economy and our future, and I hope to work with him from the US Senate to create new jobs in this vital industry.”
