Habitat work day set for Saturday near Rock Creek

Jasper County Pheasants Forever, along with the Iowa DNR and Jasper County Conservation, is hosting a habitat workday at local conservation areas near Rock Creek State Park from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Volunteers will meet near the old concession area on the eastside of Rock Creek Lake. Once all volunteers have arrived, the group will be led to the work locations. Pheasants Forever will provide water and a sack lunch for all volunteers. All volunteers are encouraged to wear work clothes, boots and gloves and, if possible, a chainsaw or loppers to help with woody vegetation removal.

Volunteers are asked to register for the event by contacting Jasper County Conservation at (641) 792-9780 or by emailing Jasper County Pheasants Forever at jaspercountypf@gmail.com by Thursday.
