LGBT community members to speak at Congregational UCC

Members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Congregational United Church of Christ, 308 E. Second St. N.

Cindy Pollard and Gayla Snook, the first couple to file for a license to marry in Jasper County after same-sex marriage became legal in Iowa, along with strong advocates for LGBT rights and committed members of Congregational UCC will share their experiences and discuss ways to better welcome and celebrate members of the LGBT community.

The public is welcome, and light refreshments will be served.
