When the Jasper County Board of Supervisors meets Tuesday, Ordinance 61, which was said to be “going back to the drawing board,” will be revisited. Jasper County Sanitation Director Kevin Luetters will be present as the board sets a resolution to approve three dates for the next round of public hearings.
The previous public hearings helped to curve the original plan for Ordinance 61. With recommended dates of April 9, 16 and 23, Luetters should have ample time to revise the proposed ordinance.
Jody Easton will also be present at this meeting to discuss last Thursday’s special meeting on mental health with Poweshiek, Marion, and Mahaska county representatives that took place in Oskaloosa. Easton was one of the people representing Jasper County and works for Central Point of Coordination in Jasper County. Central Point of Coordination is responsible for the administration and funding of mental health services here in Jasper County.
Two items on the agenda relate to the secondary roads department. Jasper County Engineer Russ Stutt will request approval for the 2014 fiscal year budget for his department as well as a discussion his department’s five-year plan.
The second, and something that should interest citizens concerned about the Secondary Roads situation in Jasper County, will be a discussion on creating a new position within the department. The official title of what would be a full-time position would be assistant maintenance superintendent at the Secondary Roads department.
Jasper County Human Resources Director Dennis Simon will present the resolution to the board.
Also on the human resources forefront will be an update on the vacant clerk position. Jasper County Auditor Dennis Parrott will present this information to the board.
Jasper County Treasurer Doug Bishop will present his resolution on making Hedrick Bank in Kellogg one of the Jasper County depositories. Bishop wasn’t able to accomplish this last week due to a misunderstanding on making an official resolution.
