Zimbabwe missionaries to speak Wednesday at Congregational UCC

Don and Maryjane Westra will share their experiences of living and serving in Zimbabwe for the last three years as Global Ministries missionaries during a program planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Congregational United Church of Christ, 308 E. Second St. N. in Newton.

An Iowa native, Don serves as staff to the Micro-Enterprise and Strategic Planning/Management Program at Mt. Selinda, and Maryjane serves as a hospital administrator, which includes administration responsibilities at the Daisy Dube Children’s Home in Mt. Selinda. Global Ministries is a joint endeavor of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ that seeks to receive and share the Good News of Jesus Christ by joining with global and local partners to work for justice, reconciliation and peace.

There will be a time for questions and answers following their presentation. All are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
