Local Des Moines Metro Opera Guild chapter meets Sunday

The Newton Chapter of the Des Moines Metro Opera Guild will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday at the home of Carol Soderblom, 831 Woodland Drive in Newton.  

Dr. Bernard McDonald, director of opera at Simpson College, will preview “Romeo and Juliet,” one of the three operas to be presented by the DMMO this summer in Indianola. Interested persons are invited to attend.

The next chapter event will be for the joint preview of “Peter Grimes,” another of this season’s selections, at 7 p.m. April 18 at the Des Moines Art Center.
