This home located at North Fourth Avenue West and West 10th Street North in Newton was destroyed during an early-morning blaze today. Firefighters were called shortly before 1:30 a.m. and spent the rest of the morning hours battling the blaze. Firefighters were forced to evacuate the building temporarily when the roof of the home collapsed. The homeowners and their children were able to safely evacuate the home, and no injuries were reported. Fire Chief Jarrod Wellik said a cause for the fire likely will never be determined due to the extensive damage to the home.
