Mobile clinic offers spaying, neutering for outdoor cats
Addressing the problem of pet overpopulation throughout Iowa and specifically in Jasper County means taking action, and a mobile clinic later this month will offer low-cost spaying and neutering services for residents who have outside (barn or alley) or free-roaming feral cats.
The clinic, sponsored by the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Human Society, is being conducted by certified staff from the Animal Protection and Education Charity. The clinic will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the JCARL, 5411 Liberty Ave.
Fees for spaying female cats are $50. Fees for neutering male cats are $40. This low-cost option provides many additional benefits for the animals, including vaccinations (distemper and rabies), microchip ID and parasite control (30-day treatment for ear mites, fleas, roundworms & hookworms).
