Fahrney signs with MCC softball

Colfax-Mingo senior Sydnie Fahrney signed a letter of intent to play softball at Marshalltown Community College last Friday.

MCC coach Jeff Lamb made the trip to Colfax to sign Fahrney, who has been a Jill-of-all-trades for the Tigerhawks since she was an eighth-grader.

Last season alone, Fahrney hit .396 with 17 RBIs and a team-high three home runs. She also led the Tigerhawks with 20 walks, 26 runs scored, a .578 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .529. Her 34 hits were also second on the team to then-senior Katelyn Buehrer.
