Our voices will be heard Saturday

“Voices” will be heard Saturday. Throughout the day, “Idle No More” will have special meaning for American Indians.

Every treaty we have had has been broken, and no compromise can be heard or made — does this sound familiar? We served in World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and so on. We did not get the right to vote until 1945, or declared “human beings” until 1952.

Yet land taken out form underneath us was declared ours by treaty in the 1800s. Silent no more and voices we have. Enough is enough!
