Timothy Dean Stevens, 41, of Newton died on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center under the care of Skiff Hospice.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the memorial service at the Moose Lodge. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tim’s name may be left at the funeral home or the Moose Lodge.

Timothy, the son of Dale Stevens and Rebecca (Hawkins) Shafer, was born on Feb. 15, 1971, in Newton. Although he dealt with cancer most of his adult life, he did work at South Philly’s restaurant in Des Moines where he loved making sub-sandwiches. Timothy enjoyed spending time with his family.
