Toy drive to benefit St. Nick’s at Nelson Manor

Teach the kids to do some good this holiday season at Nelson Manor’s toy drive this weekend, located at 1500 First Ave. E. in Newton.

During the event, which runs from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, children may bring in a new, unwrapped gift to benefit a needy child listed in the St. Nick’s Christmas Club adoption book, then get their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

“This will be the last big push (for St. Nick’s),” said Lisa McKinney, an organizer with the club.
