Cardinal swimmers go 1-1 at Lincoln

The Newton boys swim team had its second meet of the season Thursday night, partaking in a triangular at Des Moines Lincoln High School against the host Railsplitters and Waukee.

The Cardinals topped Lincoln by a score of 54-40, while the Warriors — one of the top teams in the state — defeated Newton 68-26.

The Cards won two of the 14 events, took second in four and third in two others. Waukee won eight events and Lincoln won one.
