JCARL hosting adoption, fundraising events this month

Christmas 50/50 drawing and ‘Smitten with Kittens’ highlight shelter’s busy holiday season

Adopting a new pet from the Jasper County Animal Rescue League and Humane Society should never be a 50-50 proposition, as those new home-seeking animals are best served by owners who are 100 percent committed to their safety and care.

However, when it comes to generating important operational revenue for the shelter, the time-tested 50/50 raffle is a “purrfect” way to raise critically-needed funding to help animals get well.

Each month the JCARL takes in approximately 100 cats and dogs. While that in it itself poses many unique challenges for shelter staff in caring for and finding new homes for these animals, many of them require immediate medical attention when they arrive because of injury or neglect.
