Monroe Police Chief endorses Halferty

To the editor:

I am writing this letter to lend my support of Chief Deputy John Halferty for Sheriff of Jasper County. I have worked with John for a little more than eight years now and in that time I have seen the great leadership skills he possesses. It has been an honor working with Sheriff Mike Balmer for that amount of time and I truly believe that John has what it takes to lead the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office into the future.

Since February, I have been the Chief of Police for the City of Monroe. In that time, I have had several obstacles to climb. John has always been there to answer any of my questions and to lend his knowledge that comes from years of experience in law enforcement. In him doing this, it has helped me to be a better leader for my department in the City of Monroe.
