Three dozen boys and girls participated in the second annual Newton YMCA Punt, Pass and Kick Contest on Sept. 29.
Each child competed in all three phases and in a timed 40-yard dash for prizes in their grade division.
The overall winners for the competition were Jackson Nichols (K-1), Conner Maston (2-3) and Derek Lanser (4-6).
“It was a great morning and a lot of fun to have all the kids out on the field Saturday morning,” said Tom Vanderlaan, Executive Director of the Newton Y.
The cost for the event was $5 per child and all proceeds went directly to support youth sports programs at the Y.
“We are hoping to make it bigger and better each year,” Vanderlaan said.
