Miller Sisters to perform at ITAC in Amana on Friday

The Miller Sisters, Joan and Jennel, will perform at the Iowa Theatre Artists Company’s downstairs Dance Hall at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Tickets cost $5 and may be purchased at the door.

The singing sisters come from a large musical family that includes their parents, who had their own band, and their brother, “Ragtime Rod,” who played piano at Disneyland for a number of years.

Joan and Jennel have been singing together since they were children. Joan first began singing for different church events and dances, and then for various country bands over the years. For the past year and a half, Jennel joined Joan at jam sessions with local bands. The two decided to venture toward their own musical career shortly thereafter.
