Climatemaster, one of the Midwest leaders in geothermal heating and cooling equipment, recently announced that Jack Reeves (above, left) from Warnick-Reeves Mechanical of Newton completed the geothermal installation and service training course.

The three-day training course was offered by Comfort Products at DMACC’s Energy Center in Des Moines with factory trained and certified instructor Mace Hensen of Des Moines.

Reeves completed 24 hours of course study that included geothermal system design and application, water-to-water system basics and installation procedures, geothermal service techniques and testing, geothermal piping basics, design with fusion certification, system set-up and installation procedures and geothermal software installation and training. To complete this three-day training course, Reeves had to complete and pass written testing as well as hands-on application testing and certification.

Comfort Products is a leading geothermal equipment supplier with heating and cooling specialists throughout Iowa and Nebraska, including Warnick-Reeves in Newton. Recently Gov. Terry Branstad signed into law the new geothermal state tax credit, and with the federal tax credit still in effect, geothermal heating and cooling systems are expected to become more popular.
