Harold J. Rennpage, 94, of Newton died on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. The family will greet friends immediately following the funeral with a coffee time at the funeral home. Burial will be held Monday, May 14, at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Dent, Minn. Memorials in Harold’s name may be left at the funeral home.
Harold was born on May 28, 1917, to Alonzo and Antoinette (Fiedler) Rennpage. He worked for the Ford Motor Company in Michigan for 28 years as a service representative, retiring in 1974. Harold was united in marriage to Ruth Davis Soderblom in 1999 in Mission, Texas. He had lived in Newton for the past 14 years. Harold was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dent, Good Samaritan RV Club, and the Holiday Ramblers RV Club. He and Ruth enjoyed traveling in their motor home and they wintered in Texas every year. He loved being with his family and friends.
Those left to survive Harold are his wife, Ruth of Newton; daughter, Stephanie (Doug) Shelley of Farmington Hills, Minn.; his son, Craig (Nina) Rennpage of Houston, Texas; step-children, Nancy (Bob) Lacy of Van Meter, Carol Soderblom of Des Moines, Daryl (Donna) Soderblom of Newton and Larry (Anita) Soderblom of Prairie City; his grandson, Max Shelley; 12 step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; his two brothers, Eldred (DonnaBell) Rennpage of Ohio and Charles Rennpage of Georgia; sister, Vivian (David) Kline of Ohio; his sister-in-law, Irene Rennpage of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Katherine Rennpage; and two brothers, Wendell and Earl Rennpage.
