PCM boys finish second at Pella Christian Invite

Despite less-than-ideal conditions, the Prairie City-Monroe boys track team powered its way to a second-place finish in an eight-team field at the Pella Christian Invitational Tuesday in Pella.

First-place finishers included Andrew McCarthy in the 400-meter dash (time of 54.13 seconds), Hunter Reed in the 110 hurdles (16.20), Jordan Van Roekel in the 400 hurdles (55.77), the 4x200 relay team of Hutch Burns, Sean O’Connor, Bo Clymer and Van Roekel (1:35.14) and Sam Munson in the discus with a distance of 143 feet even.

Overall, the Mustangs scored 129.5 points, which placed them 17.5 points behind winner ADM-Adel and 21.5 points in front of third-place South Hamilton. PCM also had 11 top-three finishes on the day.
