The Newton YMCA Penguins are swimming into action March 3 and 4 in Marshalltown. Twenty-nine members of the YMCA Winter Swim Team will compete at the state meet. Those who qualified include Austin Bunker, Willa Colville, Kelsea DeCook, Jaden Dydell, Jeffrey Fitzgerald, Maggie Garrett, Sierra Griffith, Sidney Griffith, Adam Hunter, Sydney Jenkins, Henry Jensen, Chloe Kibbee, Jacob Knoll, Kaelee Knoll, Alex Lewis, Deklan Lewis, Brandon Miller, Emily Miller, Izaak Miller, Elizabeth Myers, Logan Norcross, Ben Peterson, Rachel Prendergast, Sarah Prendergast, Reese Rosenquist, Madison Smith, Clay Trotter, Lauren Zaabel and Logan Zaabel. Those who compete at State have an opportunity to move on to the YMCA Regionals on March 10 and 11, and then to Midwest Regionals on March 31 and April 1.
