In a weekly meeting short on agenda topics, the Jasper County Board of Supervisors gave approval to the purchase of a new four-wheeler for the county’s maintenance department.
The supervisors approved the bid of Van Wall Implement of Colfax for the purchase of a 2012 Polaris Sportsman 850 for $9,860.
Maintenance director Adam Sparks said the machine will be outfitted with a snow blade and a salter that the county currently has, for use in snow and ice removal on the sidewalks around the courthouse.
The maintenance department’s current Polaris Sportsman 500 will go to the Jasper County Conservation Board for use on the county’s park trails.
