Local athletes attend Central wrestling camp

PELLA — Several Jasper County students attended Central College’s commuter wrestling technique camp from Aug. 9 to 11 for students in grades kindergarten through 12th.

Local participants included Newton residents Ross Hull, fourth grade, and Blayden Rhone, fourth grade; Prairie City resident Aaron Peter, senior; Monroe residents Ron Marshall, seventh grade, and Jarron Trausch, fourth grade; and Sully resident Cayden Johnson, fifth grade.

Camp directors were Eric Van Kley, Central College’s head wrestling coach, and assistant coaches Matt Diehl and Jake Patacsil. The coaches led campers through technique drills and live wrestling sessions.

Central College is a private, coeducational, four-year, residential liberal arts college in Pella.
