The Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce announced the theme for the annual Fourth of July parade, which is slated to take place on July 5 this year.

The theme, which was submitted by Jodi Maher and Darla Sudbrink of Park Centre, will be “Honor Our Past, Celebrate Our Future.”

Parade Entry forms can be filled out at the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce, or check out page 9B for a form that can be clipped out and sent in.

The parade will use the same route as the last few years and will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 5. After the parade the downtown square will host activities and vendors.

The Chamber seeks a total of about 20 volunteers to assist with parade line-up, setting up the downtown activities, and other related activities throughout the day. Those interested in volunteering should contact the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce.
