When his kids were younger, Bob enjoyed taking them camping and fishing. Later in life, he liked deer hunting, NASCAR races, going on motorcycles rides, and to the casino. He also spent time scraping cars and cutting wood. In 1989, Bob and Judy moved to Laurel.
Bob is survived by his children, Tim (Joni) Van Sickle, Chris (Debbie) Van Sickle, and Lori (Jim) Schutte, all of Newton; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one more on the way; and his siblings, Marvin (Sharon) Van Sickle of Newton, Gary Van Sickle of Des Moines, and Carol (Rodger) Wall of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy in 2021; and two children in infancy, Robert and Tracy.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Newton Village Skilled Care and Iowa River Hospice.
