Slow start plagues C-M volleyball in loss to BGM

Serving miscues too much to overcome in road loss to Bears

BROOKLYN — Colfax-Mingo’s volleyball team missed 13 serves and BGM’s balance at the net was too much for the Tigerhawks to overcome during a South Iowa Cedar League matchup on Monday.

Six Bears put down at least two kills and BGM served up eight aces during a 25-16, 25-15, 27-25 home win.

The Tigerhawks (6-9 overall, 1-4 in the conference) got six kills, eight digs and two aces from Trinity Smith. Caylee Cunningham added seven kills and six digs, Abi Rawlins chipped in 20 digs and two aces and Madison Stackhouse registered 14 assists and four digs.

Joslyn Chadwick tallied 12 digs and Felicity Woods put down two kills and served up two aces.

The Tigerhawks were 44-of-57 with seven aces. The Bears (6-11, 2-3) got 22 assists and eight digs from Chloe Etten and Paula Labad added six kills, nine digs and three aces. Karagyn Minnaert finished with 27 digs and Kylee Holland put down seven kills.
