Mustangs win second straight, down Albia

Paige Steenhoek returns from injury, helps Mustangs down Blue Demons

ALBIA — Addison Steenhoek followed up a 20-point game with a 19-point effort and her older sister Paige Steenhoek returned to the lineup during the PCM girls basketball team’s 45-29 road win over Albia on Thursday.

It was the second straight win for the Mustangs, who improved to 5-11 on the season.

PCM won the game despite shooting 28.8 percent from the floor. The Mustangs were 7-of-25 from 3-point range. Addison Steenhoek was 3-of-9 and Paige Steenhoek made a pair of triples.

Addison Steenhoek finished with 19 points, five assists and five steals and Sophia Steenhoek tallied eight points, two assists and two steals.

Paige Steenhoek scored six points on her two made 3s and Emily Foster registered six points, nine rebounds and three steals. Madie Reed added three points and seven boards and Riley Johannes chipped in three points and three rebounds.

PCM was 8-of-12 from the free-throw line and committed 15 turnovers.
