L-S football wins sixth straight, crushes Ogden

Hawks rush for 416 yards in rout of Bulldogs

SULLY — Lynnville-Sully’s football team did all of its damage in the first half against Ogden on Friday night.

The Hawks rushed for 416 yards and didn’t throw a pass for the second straight week during a 51-15 Homecoming win over the Bulldogs. L-S led 51-0 at halftime.

The win was the sixth straight for L-S, which improved to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in Class A District 6 play. It sets up a battle for the district championship with host Belle Plaine next week. Belle Plaine also is 5-0 in district play.

Ogden finalizes its district season at 3-3. The Bulldogs, who are currently in third place in the district, are 4-3 overall.

Corder Noun Harder led the Hawks with 166 rushing yards and three touchdowns on seven carries. He scored all three TD runs in the first quarter, including an 81-yarder on the first play from scrimmage. His third TD run was a 38-yarder.

Maxwell Mintle had four carries for 113 yards and a score and Kyle Squires rushed for 101 yards and two scores on 11 carries.

Lane Fisk scored on a 2-yard TD run at the end of the first quarter, Mintle’s TD run in the second covered 87 yards and Squires scored on runs of 14 and 23 yards in the second.

Ogden finished with 259 total yards, threw two interceptions and lost one fumble.

Fisk led the defense with six tackles, while Conner Maston, Bryce Richards, Keegan DeWitt and Squires all had four tackles. Maston also had an interception. Mintle and Caleb Rea each had picks, too.
