C-M baseball ends regular season with win over Colo-NESCO

Tigerhawks collect nine hits against Royals

ZEARING — Cole Bracewell homered and earned the pitching win and Cael Bracewell and Colton Edwards both had big nights at the plate as Colfax-Mingo’s baseball team ended its regular season with a 9-5 road win over Colo-NESCO on Thursday.

The Tigerhawks built up an 8-2 lead and hung on to win the non-conference game.

Colfax-Mingo (8-15) led 2-0 after two innings and plated two in the fifth and four in the sixth to pull away. The visitors tallied nine hits in the win and four Tigerhawk pitchers limited the Royals to three hits.

Cole Bracewell’s only hit was the homer and he also finished with two runs, one RBI, two walks and one steal and was hit by one pitch. He’s now batting .418 with two homers.

Cael Bracewell and Edwards each had two hits. Cael Bracewell finished with one run, one RBI, one walk and three steals and Edwards doubled, scored run and tallied three RBIs.

Joe Earles collected one hit, one run, one walk, one hit by a pitch and one steal, Nathan Sloan tallied one hit, one RBI and two walks and Jake Nichols drew three walks and stole one base.

Zach Steenhoek had one hit, one run and one RBI, Hunter Stevens finished with one hit, one RBI and one walk and Konner Dalton walked once. Shane Aikin, Trey Hockemeier and Conner Wood all scored one run and Hockemeier stole one base.

The C-M coaching staff used four pitchers in the game and none of them threw more than 40 pitches.

Cole Bracewell (4-7) started, went 2 2/3 innings and allowed no runs and no hits with three strikeouts and one walk.

Nichols pitched 1 1/3 innings and surrendered one run on one hit with three strikeouts, three walks and one hit batter.

Cael Bracewell pitched 1 2/3 innings. He allowed one unearned run on no hits with four strikeouts and three walks.

Zach Steenhoek got four outs. He allowed three unearned runs on two hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

Ben Rouse tallied two hits and two RBIs for Colo-NESCO (10-14).
