TRAER — Nine players scored at least two points and Baxter’s girls’ basketball team won its 11th straight game during a 57-22 road win over North Tama on Tuesday night.
The Bolts led the Iowa Star Conference South Division game 11-5 after one quarter and improved the margin in every frame the rest of the way.
Baxter outscored the Redhawks 32-10 in the second half.
Sophie Meyer scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed four rebounds, Elie Tuhn added 10 points and four steals and McKenzie Eslinger tallied eight points and 12 boards.
Maddie Pierce had eight points, five rebounds and three steals, Mandee Selover grabbed six boards, dished out three assists and had three blocks and Lilie Vansice chipped in four points and three rebounds.
Bree Buswell contributed six points, three rebounds and three steals, Cassy Berg grabbed six rebounds, Brooke Bacon scored three points and Merrin Ziesman pulled down three rebounds.
The Bolts (11-1 overall, 8-0 in conference play) won the game despite shooting just 32 percent from the floor and 9-of-22 from the free-throw line. Baxter was 4-of-9 from 3-point range.
North Tama (5-8, 3-4) has dropped five of its last seven games. The wins over the Redhawks completed the season sweep for both the Baxter girls and boys.

Baxter 62, North Tama 47
A huge second half propelled Baxter’s boys’ basketball team against North Tama on Tuesday night.
The Bolts trailed by eight at halftime but rallied to beat the Redhawks 62-47 after outscoring the home team 37-14 in the final two quarters.
Baxter (9-4, 4-3) won its fourth straight game and has now won seven of its last eight.
Cody Damman tallied 19 points, five rebounds and five assists to lead the Bolts, while Rory Heer chipped in 13 points and six rebounds and Nate McMinamen finished with five points and 12 boards.
Kael Johnston scored eight points, Carson Scroggins had six points and four blocks, Cael Shepley put in six points and Treyton Travis tallied four points, three assists and two blocks.
The Bolts shot 46 percent from the floor, made 8-of-17 from 3-point range and hit 16-of-21 from the foul line. Baxter committed only 11 turnovers.
It was the third straight loss for North Tama, which fell to 5-7 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
