NCMP finishes third at Cedar Falls Invitational

Dydell, Jensen lead Cardinal swimmers

CEDAR FALLS — The NCMP boys’ swim team posted seven season-best times and claimed four runner-up finishes during the Cedar Falls Invitational on Saturday.

The Cardinals scored 230 points in third place, trailing meet champion Decorah (311) and Vinton-Shellsburg (274).

Spencer (176) was fourth followed by Waterloo United (145) and Keokuk (77).

NCMP did not win any races, but Jaden Dydell was second twice, Henry Jensen was the runner-up once and the 200 freestyle relay team placed second.

Dydell was second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.09 seconds. He also was the runner-up in the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.42.

Jensen placed second in the 500 freestyle and third in the 200 individual medley. In the 500 freestyle, Jensen posted a time of 5:23.73 and his time in the 200 IM was clocked at 2:12.16.

In the 200 freestyle relay, the foursome of Jordan Henderson, Clay Lamb, Eli Eekhoff and Devin Lamb placed second in 1:43.10.

The Cardinals’ 400 freestyle relay team was third. That group included Clay Lamb, Jensen, Eekhoff and Dydell and they finished in 3:56.27.
