Darlene Joyce Karr

Darlene Joyce Karr, 93, of Otley, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Comfort House in Pella. No services are planned for Darlene. Condolences may be left for the family at coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Berlin Victor and Ann Elizabeth (Smith) Ballard, Darlene was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Prairie City. She graduated from Monroe High School. On May 25, 1946, she was united in marriage to Bill E. Karr at the Methodist Church in Monroe.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Bill; daughters, Sharon Joyce (John) Hjortshoj, Susan Jean (Tracy) Swift and Jennie Rae Baker; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Ballard. Preceding Darlene in death were her parents; an infant brother; four sisters; and an infant grandson.
