OPEN to host Pasta Dinner Fundraiser to support nonprofit in Ukraine

This community event invites residents to share a pasta dinner while supporting a nonprofit organization in Ukraine, all for a free-will donation, with 100 percent of proceeds going directly to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.

The community is invited to come together for a meaningful cause at the Pasta Dinner Fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 at First Lutheran Church, 309 E. Third St. N. in Newton.

Hosted by OPEN (Organization Promoting Everlasting Neighbors), this community event invites residents to share a warm meal while supporting a nonprofit organization in Ukraine. Guests can enjoy spaghetti pasta, salad, garlic bread and dessert — all for a free-will donation, with 100 percent of proceeds going directly to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.

“This event is about more than just sharing a meal,” Sveta Miller, a representative of OPEN, said. “It’s about showing compassion and solidarity with those in need, while strengthening our own sense of community here at home.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring family and friends, skip cooking for the evening, and enjoy great food while supporting a great cause.
