Colfax-Mingo wrestling downs English Valleys, loses to S-K

COLFAX — Five wrestlers went 2-0 on the night, the Tigerhawks were 7-7 in contested matches and Colfax-Mingo's wrestling team split a pair of South Iowa Cedar League duals on Tuesday night.

The Tigerhawks downed English Valleys 60-18 after losing 42-36 to Sigourney-Keota.

In the win over English Valleys, Colfax-Mingo claimed four pins and were given six forfeits. The Tigerhawks were 4-3 in contested matches in that dual.

Noah Strohmeyer (113), John McGill (126), Austin Lane (132) and Hunter Stevens (152) all won by fall. Tevin Wamsher (145), Gaven Slycord (285), Mariah Webster (120), Melany Vry (160), Miranda McGill (170) and Maggie Schroeder (182) all took forfeits.

In the loss to Sigourney-Keota, John McGill, Lane and Wamsher all won by pin, while Strohmeyer, Slycord and Ben Keeney (220) all took forfeits. C-M was 3-4 in contested matches and each team surrendered three forfeits.

Strohmeyer, John McGill, Lane, Wamsher and Slycord were all 2-0 on the night.
