MercyOne Newton to open occupational health clinic

MercyOne Newton Medical Center is pleased to expand its health services with the opening of an occupational health clinic. The new clinic, located at Suite G, 300 N. 4th Ave. E., Newton, is scheduled to open to patients in November.

MercyOne Newton Occupational Health will provide comprehensive services for businesses to hire the most suitable workers for the job, to maximize employee safety and health and to reduce lost work time, absenteeism and Workers’ Compensation costs. The providers serving this clinic are occupational medicine trained and/or board certified.

Some services provided include:

• Physicals: DOT, respirator, silica, HAZMAT

• Drug testing (pre-employment and/or post-injury)

• Pulmonary function testing (PFT)

• Audiometry

• Laboratory testing and physical therapy

• Physical capacity testing

• Work injury care

“We’ve heard repeatedly from local employers they are seeking one-stop access to a complete range of services for continuity of care,” said Chad Kelley, MercyOne Newton Ancillary Services Director, “and that is exactly what we are aiming to provide. We are eager to best serve the needs of the employers in our community with provides specially trained in occupational medicine.”

MercyOne also offers occupational health services in east and west Des Moines locations, providing extra options and convenience for central Iowa workers and employers.

MercyOne Newton Occupational Health will be open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled be calling 641-791-4340.
