The Newton Police Department responded to a call for subjects breaking into the building of a local business early Friday morning.
According to the Newton Police Department, officers responded to S&L Auto, 1313 E. 12th St. N., in reference to a report of subjects breaking into the building. Upon arrival, officers located three subjects inside of the building.
One subject fled on foot and was apprehended a short distance away. The other two subjects were arrested inside the building. The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Hunter Clark of Marshalltown, 30-year-old Drew Quick of Marshalltown and a 15-year-old juvenile of Marshalltown.
All three subjects were charged with third-degree burglary, a Class D felony. Quick also was charged with interference of official acts — bodily injury. Clark and Quick were transported to the Jasper County Jail and the juvenile was released to a parent.
Clark is being held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond and Quick is being held on a $6,000 cash or surety bond with there initial appearance being scheduled for Friday, June 26.
