Appointment reminders now offered by MercyOne Newton

MercyOne Newton is excited to announce that they are now offering a new automated appointment reminder system to help busy patients keep track of their appointments. This feature will be available for most appointment types, including surgeries, clinic visits, radiology exams, and more.

Patients will receive reminder texts to their smart phones — or voice messages for non-text-equipped phone numbers — prior to their appointment. There will be a prompt to confirm or cancel the appointment via the call/text message. Patients will have the choice to opt out of this service if they would prefer not to get reminders.

“The primary driving factor in this new service is making things easier and better for our patients,” Chad Kelley, Director of Ancillary Services, said. “We know how busy people's schedules can be, and a quick reminder like this will help to simplify their health-care experience.”
