Mary Ann Lamb, 72, of Newton, died Monday, April 6, 2020, at Park Centre. A private family graveside service will be held at McKeever Cemetery in rural Colfax. Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time. The funeral home will stream the graveside service on its Facebook page. Memorials to Park Centre Garden View may be mailed to the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mary, the daughter of Charles Francis and Lorene Etta (Strong) Lynch, was born Feb. 16, 1948, in Centerville. Her family later moved to Newton where she graduated from Newton High School in 1966. On Dec. 30, 1977, Mary was united in marriage with Larry Lamb in Newton. They spent their married life living in Newton and Colfax. Mary worked as a secretary at the Maytag Company for 30 years. She enjoyed baking cookies with her grandchildren and flower gardening. Larry and Mary spent 33 years together traveling the country in the hot rods Larry built. In the later years, they purchased a motorhome for traveling and they enjoyed spending their winters in the south. Mary also loved her Shih Tzu dogs.

Mary is survived by her step-children, Jill Anderson of Newton, Jon Lamb of Newton and Justina (Thad) Loeb of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Drake Lamb, Haleigh (Nate) Lenz, Quintin, Maribelle, Marley and Rawley Loeb; a great-grandchild on the way; her nephew, David Lynch of Nichols; niece, Charlena (Mark) Madsen of Atalissa; her many cousins; and her dog, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry in 2010; and a brother, Thomas Lynch.
