Des Moines Christian too much for PCM

URBANDALE — Top-seeded Des Moines Christian was just too much for Prairie City-Monroe’s boys’ basketball team on Thursday night.

The Lions jumped out to an early lead and never trailed again during a 74-43 win over the Mustangs in the Class 2A District 13 contest.

Des Moines Christian (17-5) led 18-6 after one quarter and outscored PCM (12-11) 30-15 in the second quarter.

The Lions won the third quarter 19-10. The Mustangs outscored their hosts 12-8 in the fourth.

PCM ended the season with losses in six of its final seven games.

Des Moines Christian advanced to the district final where it will face Pella Christian at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Newton.
