Steve was a member of the NRA, Newton Jaycees and DeMoley. He loved animals and had rescued many. Steve also enjoyed watching the wildlife at their home in Lamoni, fishing and kayaking. He liked going treasure hunting at flea markets and garage sales. Steve was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
