Lynnville-Sully wrestlers compete in double dual

SIGOURNEY — Lynnville-Sully’s wrestling team lost two duals against South Cedar Iowa League teams in a double dual at Sigourney High School.

The Hawks lost 54-17 to BGM with three wins in the five contested matches. Freshman Elizabeth Elliott had a forfeit win at 106 as the only win for Lynnville-Sully in a 60-6 loss to host Sigourney-Keota.

Against BGM, junior CJ Snethen (132), freshman Reese Dunsbergen (152) and freshman Caleb Rea (120) claimed wins by pins. Lynnville-Sully was docked a team point for unsportsmanlike conduct to finish with 17 points.

Lynnville-Sully was slated to compete Saturday at Pleasantville’s tournament, which was canceled because of winter weather. The Hawks wrestle at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in a meet at Montezuma.
