Hunt & Associates, P.C., Certified Public Accountants, released an audit report on Newton Community School District in Newton.
The District’s revenues totaled $42,721,702 for the year ended June 30, 2019, a 5.1 percent increase from the prior year. Expenses for District operations totaled $40,296,920, a 3.3 percent increase from the prior year.
The auditor reported six findings related to the receipt and expenditure of taxpayer funds. They are found in the Schedule of Findings and Questioned Costs of this report. The District was provided with recommendations to address each of the findings.
