PCM wrestling loses three at Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE — Prairie City-Monroe’s wrestling team has still yet to find the win column in duals this season.

The Mustangs went 0-3 in a quadrangular on Tuesday night, losing 42-34 to Sigourney-Keota, 63-18 to Bondurant-Farrar and 60-18 to Pleasantville.

Payton Drake was 3-0 on the night with two pins and a major decision at 152 pounds. Drake, who is ranked fourth in Class 2A at 138, is 8-2 on the season.

Seth Greiner, Landon Fenton, Cooper Sloan and William Vanderpool were all 2-1 on the night.

Fenton won twice by fall and lost 4-3 to Bondurant-Farrar’s Aiden Lewis. Fenton (8-2) is ranked ninth in 2A at 132. The two wins by pin came at 138 and the loss to Lewis was at 145.

Greiner (5-3), Sloan (6-4) and Vanderpool all won once by fall and once by forfeit.

Greiner lost to 1A No. 7 Matthew Kauffman of Pleasantville by fall at 285 and Sloan’s loss at 220 came by pin against 1A No. 4 Cale Anthony of Pleasantville (3-3). All three of Greiner’s losses this season have been to ranked wrestlers.

Alex Courtney claimed the other win on the night for PCM. Courtney took a forfeit at 106 against Sigourney-Keota (5-1).

PCM (0-6) continues to compete without Jace Smith, Colby Tool and Brian Nicholson because of injury. Smith is ranked 10th at 285 and Tool is ranked third at 152.

PCM wrestles in a quadrangular hosted by North Polk at 6 p.m. on Thursday in Alleman.
