Newton Edward Jones branches help serve up Christmas meals for NCSD

Edward Jones, a leading provider of financial services, is giving back to the community with a contribution of $500 to the NHS Food Pantry to help fund Christmas meals for Newton Community School District students and their families.

Three years ago, Abby Lamont started a Christmas meal program from Cards House of Apparel/NHS Food Pantry and served 20 NHS students Christmas meals for their families. Since that time they have expanded and now serve each of the NCSD schools and try to meet their needs so each child has a meal at Christmas. Each meal costs approximately $23 and with Edward Jones contribution will help purchase 13 meals of the 90 NCSD plan to provide this holiday season.

“We have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of support and willingness to give from this amazing community. We have hope our outreach can continue to grow and continue to serve the NCSD students.”

Any who would like to offer help toward this cause or the NHS Food Pantry in general, can contact Lamont at lamonta@newton.k12.ia.us or 641-792-5797.
