Ann Raridon, 84, of Grinnell, formerly of Newton, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 13 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 at the funeral home. Memorials to St. Francis Manor or the Jasper County Courthouse Lighting Fund may be left at the funeral home.

Ann, the daughter of Richard and Jane (Campbell) Seeland, was born June 6, 1935, in Grinnell. She grew up in Grinnell and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1953. Following high school, Ann attended Stephen’s College in Columbia, Mo. In 1955, Ann was united in marriage to Tom O’Harra and they were blessed with two children, Mike and Cindy. After a short time in Iowa City they moved to Newton. In February of 1974, Ann was married to Duane Raridon. They liked vacationing in Sarasota, Fla. Most recently, Ann had worked as an administrative assistant for Farm Bureau. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Newton. Ann enjoyed and taught line dancing, knitting and going to horse races. She also loved to go shopping.

Ann is survived by her children, Cindy (Ted) Owens of Newton, Wendy (Mark) Vorel of Parker, Colo., Sharon Ruby of Maxwell and Rick Raridon of Newton; daughter-in-law, Lori O’Harra of Baxter; her 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane Raridon in 2000; son, Mike O’Harra in 2013; and sister, Emily State.
