Kirk Wisgerhof passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at the Billings Clinic in Billings, Mont., following a long illness. He was 67. At his request, no service will be held. Cremation has taken place.

Kirk was born July 31, 1952, in Newton, to Tenny and Glenn Wisgerhof. He attended schools in Newton and Sully, and went on to graduate from Colorado State University with a degree in business.

He enjoyed a lifelong career in aviation. Kirk had a license to fly at the age of 15. He loved to fly. He was also a flight instructor. His love of flying brought him to Casper, Wyo., where he met his future wife, Helen Alldredge. Kirk was the pilot on call at Casper Air Service when Helen’s father had to be flown to Denver, Colo., for emergency heart surgery in 1985. They met again several months later when he flew her father to Denver again and they married three years later on Dec. 30, 1988. Helen was by his side when he passed away along with his sister-in-law, Lana Alldredge.

Kirk was employed by several companies over the years as their pilot with the latest being Tractor and Equipment (Caterpillar) in Billings, Mont. He had also worked as a pilot for Casper Air Service in Casper, Wyo., the State of Wyoming in Cheyenne, Wyo., and National City Bank in Cleveland, Ohio. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recognized Kirk in the prestigious FAA Airmen Certification Database. The database, which appears on the agency’s website, named Kirk as exceeding the high educational, licensing and medical standards established by the FAA.

He enjoyed scuba diving, fast cars, motorcycling, shooting, flea markets, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Kirk is survived by his best friend, Helen; his niece, Heather Saunders (Mike); nephew, Scott Wisgerhof (Melinda); sisters-in-law, Barb Wisgerhof (Ken), Billie Alldredge Smith (Paul) and Lana Alldredge; and his great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kay; brother, Ken; brother-in-law, Butch Alldredge; his nephew, Ashley Alldredge; and his mother and father-in-law, William and Rosa Lee Alldredge.

His ashes will be buried with the Alldredge family at the Beechgrove Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Ind.
